“The Rachel” haircut is so famous that almost anyone who was alive in the ‘90s knows it and marks it as the iconic hairstyle of Rachel Green. ‘Rachel’ cut, a layered and highlighted shaggy cut, which was first showed up in 1994 while Jennifer Aniston wore it for Rachel Green’s signature hairdo on the hit TV sitcom, ‘Friends’. Obviously, it has been so popular for such a long time that it has been regarded as one of the most iconic haircuts in Friends. Because of the popularity of this hairstyle, we feel so surprised when we heard that Aniston is not really a big fan of the look.

“I was not a fan of the ‘Rachel’. That was kind of cringe for me. Looking back–honestly, even during that time–I couldn’t do it on my own. I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer,” she said in an interview with Glamour. According to what she said, “The Rachel” is more cringe-worthy than covetable.

She does hate the ‘do a lot, depending on that she reminded again and again of her hatred to her character’s most famous hairstyle. According to her previous interview with Allure, she said Chris McMillan’s“the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel.” To emphasize her hatred, she went on naming it the “ugliest haircut I have see.”

Well, for Aniston, which hairstyle is the favorite? In the interview with Glamour, she said: “Long, natural-looking beachy waves. They feels most like me.”
